NAMA-National Asset Management Agency

nama.jpg NAMA is the National Assests Management Agency. They were set up last year by the Irish Government to absorb any bad debt in the banks. Such as big developers that borrowed too much money and now can't afford to pay it back. NAMA will take their property and the debtor and manage it themselves or close it down.A lot of hotels will close because of Nama but its either that or the banks go bankrupt and the whole country would crumble on the stock market.

The Irish hotel industry is facing the biggest challenge in its history, hit by overcapacity, piunging visitor numbers, falling room rates and a chronic lack of credit. When I read Peter Bacon's report, it was suggested that established hoteliers may need to moved into some of the newer hotels on the market if their own was closed.

Pat McCann said "NAMA has a very clear brief which is not talked about and that is the protection of jobs. It's not going to solve the oversupply in the hotel sector because it will want to maintain these business."

For the hotel industry, Nama will not fix it but what about other industry in Ireland?

Anyway, I think Nama for me is really new...I really don't know the systerm here...only one thing I can sure is that...it just happened in Ireland!

Find your way-Kofescent

coffee.jpegKofescent, which is a well-known Italian coffee company. In the last year Kofescent's share of the quality market has declined by almost 20%.There are several reasons for this:
Brand Loyalty
1. People are becoming less loyal to brands and more price conscious.
2. They are buying cheaper coffee product.
Price
Supermarkets are selling and similar product at much lower price.
Copy-cat product.
Competing products of Italian-style ground coffee are selling at prices 20%-30% lower than Kofescent.

Here are some of my advice for Kofescent
1 Do some promotion. For example, package selling. Customer could get a cup or some biscuits free when they buy the product. Company also could provide some discounts or some special offers such as buy one get one free or buy one get the second half price, etc.
2 Issuing vouchers. Consumers get the voucher when they buy the product to make them come back and purchase next time.
3 Free tasting. Although it's well-know, people would like to taste before they buy. Free taste would be better for consumer and this is a quick approach to advertise the product.
4 Sponsorship. Sponsor is getting more important in some way. It could be helpful in economic issue. Customers would recognize the logo and the product would be more visible.
5 Visiting factory. Organize some customers to visit the factory. People may will be interested in the product after visiting the factory and know how the product produced.
6 Looking for new market. For exampe, selling this product to Asian country.
